About Us
Brevard Youth Sports is proud to offer the residents of Brevard County a single source to find out information on ALL youth sports and activities for children from toddlers up to seniors in high school. We realize that this is a tremendous amount of information and will make it as easy as possible for you to navigate through the site. We also realize that we may miss some teams or activities and welcome any additional information regarding these sports and activities. There will be links to all organizations where possible and contact information for those organizations without websites. To start off (with a few exceptions) we will focus on the areas from Viera south to Palm Bay. As we become accustomed to the amount of information we will be updating each week, we will expand to cover the entire county (hopefully by Summer 2008). Several times a week, a photographer will visit various events and will post the photos on this website. Whenever you are given a business card without a password on it you only need to look up the sports your child is involved in on this site and if you see their photo simply send us an email and we will email you all the photos we took of your child free of charge. On occasion we will be out to shoot photos of a particular event and will post all the photos online for you to view and purchase if you so choose. You will be provided with a flyer or business card with a password to allow you access to these photos. We do not charge very much for these photos since we believe no one should be deprived of these memories and we will do our best to make sure everyone that wants photos will get them. Because of these extremely low prices, we ask that you visit as many of our sponsors as you can and visit the Sponsors Page to support the companies that help support us. Many of these companies are also vital in providing prizes for our two weekly contests. Please visit Photo of the Month and Athlete of the Week for more information. We can't wait to grow along with your children.
Now you might wonder just who we are. Let's start with the editor/ photographer Ryan Seeloff. Ryan began his photography career many years ago shooting action sports for a variety of publications. He then began freelancing for Florida Today and The Orlando Sentinel about six years ago. With over 1,000 photos in print and 2,000 photos online for Florida Today and over 300 photos in print and online for the Sentinel Ryan has been able to fine tune his artistic touch for catching that "special moment" in just about any sport imaginable. Ryan also has had numerous photos published in over 30 different publications throughout the world. One highlight was when he was able to be the photographer for a group of English students that won a national contest and spent two days at the Space Center and he not only got to know many of the students very well, but he also had photos from the behind the scenes tour published in several countries. Over the years that Ryan has taken photos for Florida Today he realized the need for a website like Brevard Youth Sports. He now spends his time constantly editing this website to add new information and taking photos almost every day to keep the content fresh. Unless you see a photo credit given for a photo, Ryan has been the photographer for each photo on this site.
Now without the support of his wife Jennifer, Ryan would never be able to put in the time needed to publish this site. Jennifer works all day as the manager of a bank in the county and the pair switch off kiddie duties when she gets off of work. He could never thank her enough for the support she gives him while he seems to always be working on something related to the site or selling ads for the site (No she did not write this herself).
